Which password?
Cannot connect to my friend’s wireless Apple network. What gives?
I’m using a Lenovo Thinkpad (I’ve removed Thinkpad Access connections and only connect now through Windows Wireless Network Connection). I’m staying with my friend in New York who has an Airport Extreme wireless connection. I’m sitting next to him and I see him enter the WEP key (an 8 key series of letters) into his Apple laptop and he connects with ease.
I, on the other hand, enter that key and I get the following error message:
"The network password needs to be 40bits or 104bits depending on your network configuration. This can be entered as 5 or 13
ascii characters or 10 or 26 hexadecimal characters."
What gives? He says that other friends have been able to access the network no problem.
