[ Family ] Open Question : Should I Tell My Mother Her Childhood Best Friend Has Died?


My mother is 86 and very frail physically and beginning to show signs of dementia. I found out her lifetime best friend passed away last month. I am visiting my mother who lives out of state next month. I want to tell her, but should I?

Two years ago I visited the friend and she was very frail and couldn’t talk due to a stroke. My mother was torn up and cried a long time when she realized how her friend had gone downhill.
